Breakfast consists of a selection of 6 cereals, fresh meats and cheeses, and yoghurts, along with toast, croissants, preserves, and Danish pastries. Fresh seasonal fruits may be available, including raspberries, blueberries, peaches, or prunes. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk of the historic Ryton with its ancient church and selection of cafes and restaurants. It is only one mile from Hadrian's Wall walk. The house is only a 10 minute journey from Newcastle centre and 5 minutes from the MetroCentre shopping complex. This is a relaxing environment where a warm welcome is guaranteed. Hedgefield House has the interesting distinction of being the 1st private house in England to have a private telephone. Alexander Graham Bell was related, by marriage, to the Simpson family who built the house.

Hedgefield House is a fully access approved bed and breakfast. The breakfast hall is open Monday to Friday 07:30 to 08:30 and Saturday and Sunday 08:00 to 09:15.
