Quick description

The hotel is located in the low mountain range Erzgebirge and was built in 1537 directly on the historical Bohemian “Salzstrasse” (salt route). For hundreds of years it was used as hostel by travellers and waggoners. Today, after extensive renovations and refurbishments, it is still one of the landmarks of the charming town Zwonitz. The original historical charm of this building is still noticable throughout the hotel.

Travel information

By car - Travelling on motorway A72 take the exit towards Stollberg West. Continue straight towards Zwönitz and via the highway for approximately 10km. - Take the 3rd exit towards Zentrum Zwönitz and turn right towards the Marktplatz square with the hotel. - Pass by the hotel then turn right through the gate to the hotel parking.

Area information

Zwönitz is worth a visit all year round. It is located in the heart of the Ore Mountains between Chemnitz, Aue, Stollberg and Annaberg. It is a picturesque small town at the foot of the Geyerischer Forest at an altitude of 500 metres, and offers unspoilt nature and many sights. During summer it is a hiker's paradise and in the winter it is an ideal skiing destination. Explore the unique mountain areas and the pretty Christmas markets and admire the art of the Ore Mountains including its wonderful wood craft. You can also go on day trips to the nearby cities of Dresden, Meißen or Karlsbad.

Try specialities from the Ore Mountains such as our home-made "Grüne Klöße" (green dumplings), buttermilk dishes or our traditional Christmas dish "Neinerlaa", traditionally served in the advent period.
